There are many people today who are definitely not getting enough sleep that they need because of their sleeping disorder and one of this is snoring. Today one can find several aids to stop snoring which are usually available from many different pharmacies and stores. The majority of people do not actually know what causes snoring. When you fall asleep your jaw collapses. So what, you might say. The problem is that a collapsing jaw causes the narrowing of the throat. The narrowing of the throat can then lead to quick air flows and vibrations which leads to the snoring sound. In view of this most snoring aids try to keep your nasal passages open. But these don’t do anything to fundamentally alter your physical characteristics so as to prevent snoring from occurring in the first place. One of the best ways to stop snoring is by investing in a CPAP machine. Unfortunately CPAP machines are very expensive. A CPAP machine is a device that is worn over your mouth, similar to a gas mask. The purpose of the CPAP machine is to create a flow of air that will keep you throat from collapsing during sleep. These masks are not comfortable for everyone, so do not just buy one without knowing beforehand if it works for you or not. Probably the most well known stop snoring aid is the nose strip. The premise is to open up your nasal passage more than normally, allowing you to close your mouth and not be required to breathe through it while sleeping. Mouth guards to stop snoring are also fairly in demand. The mouth guard this works by controlling the position of your jaw, thus keeping the passage way open and in doing so reducing or eliminating snoring. Mouth guards can be available off the shelf and in different sizes. Mouth guards that are fabricated according to the user’s mouth are usually more expensive, but these type of guards are usually more comfortable and more effective in the long run. Another means of stopping snoring is by using a jaw supporter. Jaw supporters are sometimes known by the names of snoring chin straps. Snoring chin straps are designed to keep your mouth closed during steep, thus reducing or eliminating snoring completely in the process. Snoring pillows are other popular snoring aids. Snoring pillows help in keeping the jaw forward, the chin elevated from the chest, and the spin aligned with the neck and head helps keep the airway as open as possible. It is a known fact that one if more prone to snore while sleeping on the back. Some anti-snoring pillows are designed to be placed behind the back while in a side-sleeping position.
